Our Mission
For every child to know they are loved and to develop a relationship with Jesus through “Heart speaks to Heart.”

Values and Virtues
Our “Values and Virtues” form the foundation of everything we do, both in and out of the classroom. They guide our interactions, shape our plans for the future, and reflect in all aspects of college life.

Promoting British Values and Ensuring a Safe Environment
At John Henry Newman Catholic College, we are dedicated to fostering a caring, friendly, and safe environment where students can learn in a relaxed and secure atmosphere. We actively promote British values throughout the school in various ways. Bullying of any kind, whether on-site or during off-site activities, is unacceptable. If bullying does occur, students are encouraged to report it, knowing incidents will be addressed promptly and effectively. Students and staff are urged to report any known bullying incidents to a member of staff or the Safeguarding Team at feelingsafe@jhncc.org.

John Henry Newman Catholic College is committed to the following principles for preventing and responding to bullying:

  • Listens: All pupils, parents, and carers are heard, and their input shapes our strategies for bullying prevention, reporting, and response.
  • Inclusive: Every pupil, including those with SEN/dis, respected, and participates fully in school life.
  • Respects: Staff act as role models in treating others with respect.
  • Challenges: All forms of discriminatory language are challenged and taken seriously.
  • Celebrates Difference: Diversity is actively celebrated and embraced across the school community.
  • Understands: Pupils, staff, and parents understand what bullying is—and what it isn’t.
  • Believes: All students, including those with SEN/disabilities, and their families are respected, believed, and taken seriously when they report bullying.
  • Reports Bullying: Clear guidelines for reporting bullying are understood by pupils, parents, and carers.
  • Clear Policies: Our anti-bullying policy reflects these principles and is embedded in other school policies. These policies are actively promoted among staff, pupils, and their families.
