Homelearning
Last week and in today’s video message we want to reassure parents of the excellent job you are all doing in supporting home learning. We acknowledge that students can’t work for long under these circumstances.
We are recommending that you encourage your child to study for three hours a day.
- In Years 7 8 and 9 we want students to study using their knowledge organisers in a routine you set.
- In Years 10 and 12, students will be given specific work and knowledge to learn but will be given lots of time to get this work completed.
Can we also stress the importance of reading at this time, both for learning new words and ideas as well as its ability to be calming.
It is also worth noting that the BBC will launching a new education TV service on Monday and parents might find this useful and helpful at this time.
Feeling Safe

The survey includes the latest Government clarification on what is a key worker. Please can all parents who have yet to complete this survey please look at the survey and complete at the very latest midday today so that the College can plan effectively for Monday.
In addition to the Daily Stop and Pray, I share a few thoughts and reflections with you.
One of the readings for Mass (yesterday) really struck me this morning as I thought about the forthcoming day, how many situations would change, much of the unknown and so much unexpected; as I prepare this for you here in my office on Wednesday evening, so much has changed since this morning, both within the College, within your family lives, within the Community of the Church, the People of God.
Moses was preparing the People of Israel for a journey into a land both distant and far away, so much would be new, so much unknown; it struck me that feels pretty much like that for us. Moses promised the people the presence of God, then as now!
Â
Moses said to the people:
âNow, Israel, take notice of the laws and customs that I teach you today, and observe them, that you may have life and may enter and take possession of the land that the Lord the God of your fathers is giving you.
âSee, as the Lord my God has commanded me, I teach you the laws and customs that you are to observe in the land you are to enter and make your own. Keep them, observe them, and they will demonstrate to the peoples your wisdom and understanding. When they come to know of all these laws they will exclaim, âNo other people is as wise and prudent as this great nation.â And indeed, what great nation is there that has its gods so near as the Lord our God is to us whenever we call to him? And what great nation is there that has laws and customs to match this whole Law that I put before you today?
âBut take care what you do and be on your guard. Do not forget the things your eyes have seen, nor let them slip from your heart all the days of your life; rather, tell them to your children and to your childrenâs children.â
Heart Speaks to Heart
I came across this prayer, I thought it might help!
âI Wishâ
When youâre lonely, I wish you love.
When youâre down I wish you joy.
When youâre troubled, I wish you peace.
When things are complicated, I wish you simple beauty.
When things are chaotic, I wish you inner silence.
When things are look empty, I wish you hope
And Finally:
United in thought, reflection and prayer.
Blessings,
Andrew, SCJ

Dear Parents and Carers,
You may now be aware that Tudor Grange Kingshurst Academy has closed as a result of a diagnosis of Coronavirus in a few students and staff who have recently returned from a ski trip to Italy.
We have taken advise from Public Health England and they have informed us that it is business as usual until such time as a member of our community has been confirmed as carrying the virus.
Be assured that we will keep you informed should the situation change, or should Public Health England issue further guidelines.
