Welcome to History

Powerful people only become so with powerful knowledge, which is what we aim to equip students with in history. Students study two seminal classical civilisations and explore their impact on us today before embarking on a long study of England and how our society has changed across the centuries to reach where we are today. In their lessons students are taught how academic historians ask and answer questions about the past and how to approach issues like significance, causation and how to critically engage with sources and interpretations. Through this education, history builds not just power knowledge in our students, but gives them the empathy and keen desire for truthfulness in themselves that our colleges value so highly.
