Year 13 Leavers Results 2025

Congratulations to our Year 13 class of 2025. The students have navigated their way through some significant challenges throughout the last seven years of their education. We are very proud of the maturity and resilience they have demonstrated during their time with us at John Henry Newman Catholic College, and we wish them all the best in their future endeavours.

While we as a sixth form again celebrate record results with 43% of grades A–B or equivalent*, there are some students deserving of special recognition for their outstanding achievements:


Individual Student Highlights

  • OW achieved A, A, A** in A Level History, Sociology and Maths, and has secured a place to read Law at the University of Oxford.

  • AA achieved A, A, A** in A Level Physics, Maths and Chemistry, and has secured a place to read Design (Architecture & Engineering) at the University of Cambridge.

  • MY achieved A, A, A** in A Level Sociology, Criminology and Geography, and has secured a place to read Sociology and Criminology at the University of Birmingham.

  • JM achieved A, A, A* in A Level Maths, Physics and Chemistry, and has secured a place to read Chemical Engineering at the University of Birmingham.

  • LF achieved A, A, B in A Level History, Politics and Spanish, and has secured a place to read Law at the University of Nottingham.

  • HA achieved A, A, B in A Level History, Politics and English Literature, and has secured a place to read History and Politics at the University of Warwick.

  • LH achieved A, A, B and D in A Level Spanish, English Language & Literature, Maths and Physics, and has secured an Engineering Apprenticeship at BMW.

  • JM achieved Distinction*, Distinction*, C in Vocational Business, Vocational Sport and A Level Psychology, and has secured a place to read Accounting and Finance at Aston University.

  • SD achieved A, B, B in A Level Chemistry, Biology and Maths, and has secured a place to read Pharmacy at the University of Birmingham.

  • MB achieved A, B, B in A Level Maths, Chemistry and Physics, and has secured a place to read Astrophysics at the University of Liverpool.


Headline Performance Measures

Students achieved a 99.5% pass rate, above the national average of 97.4% for 2025.
43% of grades were A–B or equivalent*, and 74% of grades were A–C or equivalent*, with many students securing first-choice university places and prestigious apprenticeships.

So far, 77% of our students have secured places at universities and further education institutions (with this figure likely to rise).
